More Love for Mumbai

Mumbai is lovely in winters, not too cold and pleasant weather all day! I met a group of sketching enthusiasts in Mumbai who are professionals and we sketch around Mumbai every Sunday. Best part is, I get good tips from them and learn from their sketching over our post sketching coffee time! Here are the two sketches I drew in past two weeks:

Mount Mary Church, Bandra

Gateway of India

Will keep updating.

Perspective drawing 01

I came to Mumbai few months back. Though for first two months all I did was roam around and indulge deeply in food, I realised I can never get the opportunity of sketching as beautiful buildings anywhere else in India. As I picked up the pen to start sketching, I figured I am really bad at perspective drawing. Vanishing point, horizon, two/three point perspective...equally bad at all of them. So I took  upon this task of understanding and practicing perspective drawing since August.
Here is how it has been going so far:
Scorpio House Hiranandani

Leaping Windows

A Diwali Gift on my desk

Leaping windows. (Not guilty for her face, she was talking a lot)

Mumbai local train. Which looks more like, my idea of a local train.

Untitled-1

This is an old one. Did this way back in 2012.
Came across this while sorting my pictures, thought could be put on this blog.

Greek bust (Tribute to no shave November)

I always wanted to paint a male face. This is the first attempt. They are hard to make! Thankfully the beard covered the face to ease my pain. Women you are pretty and a lot easier to draw with few smooth strokes!
Next painting will take a while to come.

Brave

The Tattoo means Brave. I cannot really recall what inspired me to make this, probably the perception of beauty should be a reason enough in this case.
I have always wanted to work on water colors, but I do not get the hang of the medium. Good ol' sletching was so convenient! I really need good guidance for my supplies since I have no clue about the paper/colors I use. Water colour seems to blot a lot, and I do not know how to tame it yet, forget strokes!

Clementine

First of all I request people reading this to read Eloisa to Abelard from where the title of the movie was taken so was this quote:

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd

People who are close to me know exactly how much I am obsessed with this movie-Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. I cannot stop talking about how beautifully this movie was made. Not just the Concept, but the treatment, acting, actors, script, the chemistry! Well, there will be a lot more coming from this movie, especially on days that need escapism.

P.S.- Was too lazy to find a watermark.
